Creating an Educational Tool

Another one of my objectives is to show the effort I made to improve the experience of each visitor to the South Coast Center and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn something new. I spent some time developing this brochure as a guide for visitors to learn fun facts about each of the critters as they explore.

I came up with the idea when it occurred to me that there are probably some guests who are curious about the animals but are either too shy to ask questions about them, or don’t know which questions to ask. The brochure is a useful tool because it  not only includes some interesting facts about each of the critters, but it also includes a fun scavenger hunt for kids to try to find each animal so that both children and adults can get the most out of their visit to the South Coast Center.

I feel that this brochure demonstrates my creativity and my commitment to educating our visitors. Now they have a resource which they can use to navigate the center, engage their curiosity, and hopefully inspire them to ask more questions about the critters! It also provides visitors with something to take home to recall their visit and remember why it is important to protect local marine life!
